24 hours in Long Beach

Last week Mike participated in the California Physical Therapy Association Conference. Heath and I took advantage of the opportunity and enjoyed a day in Long Beach while Mike was busy. The night before the conference Heath enjoyed wrestling us on the hotel bed.
We love having a happy baby who loves to play.
We also love having a baby who loves to love. This boy gives the best hugs and kisses. He has been offering them completely on his own for a little while now. It's cute when he gives his stuffed toys hugs but nothing compares to when he wraps his little arms around my neck. It's my favorite.
the day of the conference Heath and I explored the Long Beach aquarium. He would not step any closer to the glass than this. I tried holding him in my arms and bringing him closer but he would just wiggle away to his safe distance. He also liked to point to the fish and say "kuh-kuh," our word for things that are really gross that I don't want him to touch. He loves animals so I was surprised when he didn't like the fish. Not sure why he was flashing the fish his belly, but that's ok.
Even though he still wasn't thrilled to watch the fish he did prefer watching the sea creatures from the comfort/safety of his stroller.
Luckily, there was also an enclosed larikeet exhibit where he could run around following birds as they flew by his head. Why that doesn't scare him but the fish do is strange to me but no matter because we had a great day together.

Emily,
Heath is getting so big, it's crazy! Looks like you guys had a good time. And I love that he flashes his belly, so funny!
